There are many hiking outings to choose from throughout the Cajas region and other areas surrounding Cuenca.  Our hikes range from easy stream side walking to high altitude ridge hikes at 14,000 ft. plus.  Hikes are customized based on your desires and physical abilities. My main goal is to have each and every client have a safe and memorable outdoor experience. Hikes are limited to 4 people.  We can accommodate larger groups if desired and will provide one guide for every 5 clients.  First aid kit and radio walki talkies are on hand for all outings.

Rates:   Guided hikes average $50 per person depending on location and duration.

                                                           Guagual Shumi Mountain

                                                                Temporarily  Discontinued

Guagual Shumi Mountain is said to be a very spiritual mountain and is the wife to Cojitambo Mountain.  Guagual Shumi  is only 20 minutes east of Cuenca.  At close to 10,000 feet the top offers  incredible 360 degree views.  The hike up is moderate to slightly difficult and takes between 40 to 60 minutes depending on route but it’s well worth the effort.  Many ancient rock walls are passed during the hike. This is hands down the best full view of Cuenca along with the other valleys that surround the city.

Guided Sunset Hike:  Watch the sun set behind the Cajas Mountains and the Cuenca lights turn on.  One word, three letters describes the views, WOW!! Sit on the edge and soak it in. On the hike down the fireflies put on a show for free.  The pick up location for Sunset Hikes  is at 3:30 at Bocatti market at the south end of Solano across from Tres Puentes. Guided Sunrise hikes are also available upon request.          Cost is $40.  Limit 4
