Resident Special New Custom Cajas  Outing

Join Fintastic Adventures  for a new Cajas  experience in the Cerro Chusalongo region of Southern Cajas.

You piece together your outing. Hiking, fishing, thermal pools, a little of each or all of one. Your choice.

The landscape in this region is a bit different than  the Cajas  you may be familuar with. This area host a much more wide open landscape but just as stunning and dramatic but with  larger and different varieties of flora.

The outing will include:

Pick up at 0800 hrs. at 1 of 2 locations in Cuenca.

Lazy 1 hour scenic drive through one of the prettiest valleys in Azuay.

Blend of beautiful older haciendas, indigious dwellings, free grazing cattle and horses, local gardens, the Rios Ishscayrumi and Barabon all at the foot of lush green mountain slopes.

Hiking……   Two hours of realative easy to moderate hiking around 3 beautiful lakes with cliffs, streams, waterfalls  (depending on rainfall) and papper tree forests.

Fly Fishing…Two hours of fly fishing for wild rainbow and brown trout in the lake shallows and streams.  These are smaller native fish, not stocked and  great fun to catch on the fly.

I always practice CPR on native fish; Catch, Photograph and Release.  We fish lighter 3 wt. fly rods.  If you have ever fished for smaller brook trout (Brookies) in the States then you will love this.

Enjoy a tasty local chicken or trout amuerzo or bring your own.

After  hiking or fishing and lunch relax for an hour in the natural Pumamaqui thermal pools beside the Rio Barabon. These pools are very warm and clear and without the sulfuric odor.

Outing is limited to 3 people.  2 people $60 ea.    3 people  $50 ea.

Non Resident Rate:  2 people $70 ea.  3 people $60 ea.
